I Have Not Ridden a Motorbike Before - What Can I Expect? You will start on a very low and easy to ride motorbike. The day begins with tuition in a flat field where you are taught and then practice basic motorbike riding skills. For some riders, these lessons may take ten minutes, whilst others may need an hour or more. There is no pressure during your lesson - tuition is always one-to-one initially, and tailored to your own rate of progress. So Do I Just Ride Round and Round a Field? No! After your initial tuition, you will progress to a lesson in more challenging off road riding. You are likely to encounter hills up and down, bogs, ruts, grassy going and stony tracks, and possibly some woodland too. Lessons include control of the motorbike in tricky slow speed situations as well as faster riding. Usually you will have tuition on different motorbikes. |

I'd Like To Spend a Day Riding With My Kids - Is This Possible?Yes. If you don't already have bikes for your children, our smaller trail bikes are suitable for children aged 13 upwards to learn on. If young people (under 18) are not accompanied by their parent(s) or guardian, they must send the consent form duly signed to be received at least one week before their riding day. On the day they must be accompanied by an adult who stays on site while the children are riding and who signs our form on the day accepting responsibility "in loco parentis". Click here for the form.
We have an email list to notify riders of family days. If you would like to receive it please email me putting "subscribe family" in the subject line. Thanks. If you are not on email, I am happy to send details of family riding days to you - please phone 01686 430522 to give me your address. |

Comments from two Chris’s! "I feared it might end up being a day of riding round a field and not very challenging, but it was excellent and I was not disappointed at how hard I had to try." Chris from Plymouth. "Beautiful countryside, very confidence giving for the absolute beginner, and more demanding for the experienced riders, so something to suit all skills." Chris from Bristol I Can Ride a MotorbikeIf you can ride a motorbike but do not have a licence, we may be able to provide you with riding, but our land is more suited to riders who are not very experienced. Please email or phone 01686 430522 to discuss your requirements. (When emailing, please include a phone number.) |

Can We Bring Our Own Motorbikes? You are welcome to bring your own motorbikes, as long as they are not too noisy. Both landowners have received complaints about noise. For this reason, we do not usually allow four stroke motocross bikes in standard form. Two stroke motocross bikes, especially children's ones are OK in standard form, as the noise doesn't carry. If you are in doubt and want advice, please email or phone 01686 430522. |

The activity day riding on the farm land is more intensive and tiring than the trail riding. We have access to three areas of land. The land at Pontrhydfendigaid (18 miles inland and south of Aberystwyth) is excellent for beginners as we use two large fields with plenty of space. The other land is near Dolgellau in North Wales and is better suited to the more adventurous rider. Occasionally we also use Cwmderw, near Rhayader, but this is open to the public and has become spoiled by excessive use, especially by 4 x 4s. We never go there at weekends. The areas have their own advantages, and we are happy to discuss with you which would suit your requirements best. |

Riding motorbikes off road is a physical activity and is surprisingly tiring. We offer a half or full day. Usually we begin at 10am, and you can leave it open as to whether you do a full or half day, depending on how you are enjoying riding the motorbike. If you wish to come for two days, we will use two different venues. Usually two days is enough, but during August, we may set one week aside from Tuesday to Friday to provide a motorbike riding holiday, for both those with their own bikes and those using ours. Hopefully we can arrange four different venues. If you would like to join us then, please email or phone 01686 430522. |
Group Activity DaysAlthough usually we provide one bike per person, to reduce costs or provide riding for a larger group than usual, we can offer a day sharing bikes. One bike per two participants is provided. Please enquire if you are interested in this. We are also happy to discuss your requirements if you feel that you want something different to our normal activity days."The instructors were very patient and helpful. An excellent day." |
