Trail Rides Wales provide a guided trail riding day for people with their own road legal trail bikes, including road legal quads and long distance trials or enduro sidecars. If you or your group will find the tarmac stretches annoying, and will not be happy following a leader who may be slower than you, then please think carefully before booking with us.

Trail Rides Wales require the following:-

  • You and your bike are licensed, taxed and insured for British roads.
  • To arrive at the meeting place at 9.30am or other specified time. If you are more than half an hour late, please send a text to 07891 036527 and 07513 151355 (these numbers are given on the directions sheets). If we suffer a vehicle breakdown we will send you a text if you have given us a mobile number.
  • To inform us if you are inexperienced, have physical restrictions or a medical condition when you book. We are very happy to give you instruction and plan an appropriate route for you, but we need to know in advance.
  • Your bike must not be excessively noisy.
  • Your bike must have lights fitted, preferably working in case of fog or heavy rain. In winter this is particularly important because a delay could cause darkness to fall before we finish.
  • Please do not overtake the leader unless he signals you to do so. If he is going slowly, it is for a reason.
  • You must stay on the right of way. Only the track is legal. Riding on the land beside the track is a criminal offence.
  • Ride with courtesy and consideration, both for other users and your riding companions. Do not race eachother.
  • Please do not ’roost’ your mates, as this is potentially dangerous if his eyes happen to be uncovered.
  • Please do not wheelie or do stoppies.
  • Riders showing no respect for the countryside or other users of the byways and unclassified county roads will not be tolerated. The ride leader reserves the right to cancel the ride at any time during the day.
  • If you have a medical condition, please inform the ride leader.
  • If over 18, to sign an indemnity stating that it is understood that this is a potentially dangerous activity.
  • If under 18, to be accompanied by a responsible adult who will sign the indemnity and our consent form. If the responsible adult is not a parent or guardian, the young person needs to send an appropriately signed consent form to be received one week before the riding day.
  • Please inform us if there is a change in the number or type of people if this changes subsequent to the original booking. Emails can sometimes go astray - if making changes, please ask for confirmation that the changes have been noted.

Note about noise
Many of the lanes we use pass through farms and by rural dwellings, and to ensure continued use, it is important that we should not cause more than minimal disturbance. If your bike sounds too noisy, you will not be allowed to take part.

Lunch and petrol stops
When trail riding, we usually go to a cafe so please bring some money. Most of our routes pass petrol stations in conjunction with the lunch time stop. If you ride a bike with a range of less than 50 miles, please let us know so that we can make plans for your refuelling.

If you are joining one of our "private land" days, please bring sandwiches and enough petrol for your day.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • Full payment must be made by bank transfer, credit or debit card, Paypal or cheque cleared by three weeks before your booking.
  • If you book two days’ riding, you will not receive a refund if you decide after the first day you do not want to ride on the second day.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation by the client:-

  • Cancellation by the client with more than three weeks notice will not incur any charge.
  • Cancellation by the client less than three weeks before will require a different date to be set.

Cancellation by Trail Rides:-

  • You can postpone bookings in November, December, January, February, March or April if there is a forecast of snow or temperatures well below freezing all day, although we do ride in these conditions if you wish. Snow is interesting!
  • If an alternative date is impossible to arrange, a refund less £5 will be made.
